Canaan O’Connell is an American professional race car driver, and son of sports car racing legend Johnny O’Connell. Canaan transitioned from go-karts to race cars in 2013, competing in the unlimited class of both the Global Time Attack and NASA racing series. Canaan would go on to compete in the 2015 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, where he finished 5th in the unlimited class. After racing in the ultra competitive Spec Miata class in 2016, Canaan debuted his professional racing career in 2017 in the Pirelli World Challenge. In his first season, he accumulated 9 podiums, 8 pole positions, 6 fast laps, 5 wins, and 3 track records. Canaan is also a professional driving instructor at the Bondurant Racing School.
